Description of Professional Skaters Assoc. (PSA)Ratings and Rankings:

PSA ratings are oral exams. Coach’s must present teaching techniques to a board of Master rated PSA coaches. PSA rankings are a measure of the level of competitors trained by a particular coach.

The following are the levels of the US Figure Skating Association’s competitive testing structure:

Basic Skills Program:

KFSC offers 5 week progressive classes that follow the USFSA sanctioned Basic Skills criteria for coursework and skills testing. See the Basic Skills page for more details and to sign up.

Semi-Private Lessons:

Semi-Private Lessons are an opportunity for extra practice open to Basic Skills skaters enrolled in the Fall I session. Skaters will have 1 hour to practice including a 15 minute lesson with one of Kalamazoo Figure Skating Club’s qualified coaches. This is a great opportunity for extra practice!!

§ Any Basic 1 – 8 skater enrolled in the Fall I session is eligible to participate.

§ Skater will practice from 5:30 – 6:30pm, with a 15 minute lesson.

§ Cost is $15 per week (includes lesson time and ice cost)

§ Lessons available on a first come, first serve basis.
